Arraystar LncPath™ Cardiovascular Disease Microarray simultaneously profiles the expression of the LncRNAs in cardiovascular diseases and their protein-coding gene targets, to gain comprehensive insights into the underlying regulatory mechanisms of LncRNAs in cardiovascular pathophysiology.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are important regulators of gene expression. Recent studies have uncovered their vital roles in cardiovascular development and physiological functions [1, 2]. LncRNAs have been found aberrantly expressed under a variety of cardiovascular pathologies, including myocardial infarction, heart failure, coronary artery disease, stroke, diabetes and hypertension.

The LncPath™ Cardiovascular Disease Array simultaneously profiles the expression of 2,704 LncRNAs and 1,277 their protein-coding targets in the cardiovascular diseases. The LncPath™ Mouse Cardiovascular Disease Array simultaneously profiles the expression of 1,783 LncRNAs and 2,159 their protein-coding targets in the cardiovascular diseases. Using this kind of array, scientists can leverage the pre-designed panel as a powerful tool to quickly profile the expression of both the lncRNAs and their protein-coding gene targets, and gain comprehensive insights into the underlying regulatory mechanisms of LncRNAs in cardiovascular pathophysiology. The LncRNAs whose genes are located at or near the protein-coding genes critical in cardiovascular disease, and the LncRNAs that have high possibilities of being competing endogenous RNAs (ceRNAs) of the key cardiovascular disease genes, are carefully collected from authoritative databases using rigorous selection processes. By focusing on the LncRNAs most relevant to the cardiovascular diseases, the array can achieve much faster and more precise analysis, due to the highly specific yet smaller amount of data to analyze. More importantly, it can establish the expressional relationships between the LncRNAs and their potential protein-coding targets involved in the cardiovascular diseases, thereby providing comprehensive insights into the underlying regulatory mechanisms of LncRNAs in the cardiovascular pathophysiology.
